Thoughts of the day

… Change …

So basically yes, it’s been a while, a year or something like that but I do miss blogging.

I kept telling people I was going to get back into this, I started writing but I got lazy, busy, It’s my final year and frankly I really should be writing my dissertation right now, but I thought let me re-set my password and login in. So here I am blogging.

I won’t bore you with a random story of why I haven’t been posting, i’ll motivate you with it, because right now I could probably use some of my own motivational words for once. So you are so more than welcome to be motivated! 😀

Last summer, HAHA! oh my days, I was on a spectrum of emotions; stressing over work, people, bad skin, they way I looked, the way I felt other people looked at me. But as cheesy and cliché as this sounds I basically realised that hang on, let me do something about this.

I joined the gym! … Was that a good decision?

Hell yeah! 😀

As a young Indian female in a society where judging has become a habit, it was very hard to push myself into an open field, to explore and experience things where we were afraid and thought only men could do. That sounded deep and dramatic but it’s true, and one of those things is gym. I may not speak for all girls but I do know for a fact that a lot of girls are ashamed to go to the gym. I had the mentality and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that thought, gym was where the buff and tough guys go, to flex and impress. Ladies, and gents, It is not true! I haven’t seen a buff guy there, unfortunately. No, jokes aside (I wasn’t joking), if your intention to go to the gym is for you and you only, it won’t matter who is there. It wont matter if your brother’s best friend’s dad’s long-lost relative is there. It won’t matter that huge buff dudes are there to show off. It won’t matter that a person from your Uni, College or School will see you in sweaty attire and no make-up. What will matter is how you feel after working out, and how you see yourself. Because that’s really all that matters. #Inspirational

Exercising has not only made me healthier but also, I genuinely look at myself in the mirror and feel good. I’m not saying I’m happy dappy everyday, because it’s okay not to be. But to change little things in your life to help take one step further to it is what makes big changes easier and better. Physically going to the gym was a great way to get me out the house and being active, away from work, like a stress reliever. I do recommend it, stay fit, it just feels good!  Going to the gym isn’t a major thing I need to motivate people about, it seems to be the new craze especially with a lot of female celebs ‘snap-chatting’ or ‘instagram-ing’ their squats, which is great. What is needed for people, is change.

Change doesn’t mean you can’t do things you normally do, it just means you do something different, something small, something that makes you happy, something that keeps the mind going, something that gets you all fired up and ready to go, something that keeps you on your feet. Take a step back, change your perspective of you in your life. What do you need to do? What are your priorities? Short term? Long term? Anything… then take a step forward, do it!

Make yourself healthier, make yourself more organised, make yourself less organised, meet new people, try new things (safe things please) whatever floats your boat. Paint your nails a different colour oooo risky. Make a routine and actually follow it. Find a new hobby. Re-amend relationships with people, or start fresh. I don’t know what you’re into or not I’m just listing things to get you thinking. And hopefully you get my point.

Little changes make big differences and mine was becoming healthier. It’s made a huge impact in how I feel, how I look, how I see things, just with everything. And there is one thing for you that can make you feel the same way, you just have to find it. But trust me, and just go with it. Making Yourself happier should be your priority and goal. Naturally this will also impact those around you.

As for working out, if you genuinely need motivation to get up from your bed and head to the gym and want to see that difference, I am more than happy to share my gym experience with you and how I do things (most likely my next post).

“You have two choices in the morning, 1, to turn over and keep dreaming or 2, to get up and live that dream!” (My dad told me this once and I never forgot it so, I quote my Father).

Sometimes this ^ can only happen with just a little change…

Gym was my change, what is yours?

And Remember, Keep Smiling 🙂 xo

P.S. Here’s a really deep picture of me leaving the gym really happy and content with life, such a natural shot…
